Wear Black. Henrik Won't Be In World Cup
Thursday, April 22, 2010
I am in mourning. We thought we'd get to see Henrik in the World Cup in Germany, but that's not going to happen now. According to the Swedish newspapers Henrik's knee just won't heal fast enough and he's not going to play. He's been going to rehab, running but Henrik says
it is both physically and mentally tough to play World Cup when you are not 100 percent.
The article was a little harsh in the opening. I was surprised. Apparently the Swedes are still a bit upset that Tre Kroner didn't bring home the gold.
Henrik Lundqvist may have no chance to take revenge for Olympic failure in Vancouver.
Either that or they were miffed that Henrik informed the newspaper by text message that he wasn't playing. I'm not surprised one bit that Henrik didn't want to talk about it. No Olympic gold, no Stanley Cup playoffs, and now no World Cup run for him. Again, the malt liquor is sounding like a good idea for him right now.

Consider his summer of rehab an investment. You don't want him doing further/permanent/long-term damage that could hurt his career down the road. Then where would we all be? :p
Just focus on a mental picture of him, instead of playing in Germany, relaxing topless on a beach somewhere :) With ice on his knee...
As much as I would like to see him more, I'm glad he's going to be able to heal. I read earlier this week that it was going to depend on whether his knee would be ok, and if it's not, then I'm very glad he'll be resting it. Poor guy. But he needs to get healthy. Rest, rehab and relaxation. Take it easy, Hank!
Trish - there goes my ability to work today. I just visualized him lounging on a beach with ice on the knee. LOL
I'm glad he didn't take the chance and ruined his knee. But he needs to throw us a bone (LMAO) and tweet us some photos of the knee, his legs, SOMETHING.
