Model Henrik Lundqvist in Vogue!

From Hendrick Henrik Lunquist Lundqvist Lundkist |
We always knew he was good looking enough to be a model. Now he's in the September issue of Vogue leaning on the back of a bench in his goalie gear.
When I first saw this on Twitter I thought it was photoshopped. I mean look at his stance, he's not even posed! The other models are doing ridiculous poses, pouty looks and Henrik is at the very end of the bench just leaning on the bench.
I think a better shoot, to show our favorite Swede in the best light, would be to have the models in NY Rangers colors and with Henrik involved in the photo in some way. In the middle of the bench sitting sideways, one leg up on the bench and the models doing their pouty looks along the bench.
Or have Henrik on the ice bent over in front of his net with the models in normal model clothing with heels posing around him. In this Vogue shoot, it looks like a photobomb. Seriously! Models on a bench and a hockey goalie manages to stumble in the shoot. Our Henrik deserves better than this!

WTF? Arguably the most fashion-conscious metrosexual NHL player there is, and he's in a fashion magazine, and he's wearing gross old hockey gear?
It's like a bizarre version of that old Sesame Street or Mr. Rogers' song - one of these things is not like the other... It really does look like some sort of drunken photobomb - Avery has ties to Vogue, was this some odd drunken dare? :p
And is that the Olsen twins?
WTF? Like seriously Vogue, WTF?
Hahaha -Yes, Those are the Olsen Twins. Must say They Looked Much Cutter When They Were 5yrs Old.
I can't say that Henrik Looks Tottaly Bad...He Just Looks Like He was at the rink and just walked in for the Photoshoot.
He Could have showered and changed in to a nice shirt and tight jeans.
I think that would look More Quality than that Shot.
About Avery...If he was a good friend - Would he Not want His Friend To Look Good...???
I am very curious what the context is of the photo. There's surely some reason he's in his hockey gear.
When I saw this for the first time last night, I noticed the Olson twins right away. It was a definite WTF moment.
I work in a library, and I just went and checked to see if the September issue of Vogue is here yet, but it's not. I'll be curious to see it.
What's so odd to think about is that the Olsen twins are only 3 1/2years younger than Henrik. Since we saw them growing up, they seem much younger. But they really aren't THAT much younger. Crazy.
Found this on a blog that also thought the Vogue picture was bizarre...

Swedish (radio? TV? both?) interview from today. Hank looks nice and cazh in plaid, but of course, I have no idea what's going on. I heard New York, Penguins, Washington, Penn Station, SoHo, and meat-packing... Some things were also apparently funny. And I keep expecting the dude in the blue polo to start flinging spaghetti and flour a la the Muppet Swedish Chef - HL is fairly low-key and almost soft-spoken in his speech, but blue shirt dude is nuts :)
The video is the whole show - I think the first HL appearance is around 55mins where they show him sitting on a couch alone in the corner looking lost (looking like he was punished for being the bad kid but isn't sure what he did wrong) and then the actual interview starts after 56 mins.
There is a Clip & Info on Vougue Magazine Official Website......
Check It......
Thanks for that link, Trish! And OMG...I love that shirt of Henrik's. I swear that's the same shirt that he wore to the Pearl Jam concert with Avery and Voros, and then he also wore it in a photo at the Lamborghini shop.
It is seriously my favorite piece of clothing I've ever seen him wear. I love it, love it, love it! Either he has more than one, or he really likes it too, because seriously this is the 3rd time I've seen it. I love that he wears his clothes more than once or twice.
I haven't watched the interview yet, but I love that shirt!!!! I wonder if after he he's tired of it he'd send it to me. I'd wear it to bed with me every night...
I watched the video clip that Trish included. I really love watching interviews with Henrik, even when I have no flippin' idea what's being said.
I love that soft-spoken quality, and sometimes it almost seems like shyness. I've noticed in other things (clips/interviews/photos) sometimes he looks uncomfortable in the spotlight. Maybe I'm just seeing something that's not there, but I especially noticed it when the Rangers did the Top 10 list on Dave Letterman. He just looked so uncomfortable. Like I would in that situation, and I would because I'm very shy. So I wonder if deep down he is, but he's had to power through it due to all his fame and celebrity.
And I'm obviously giving way too much thought to this...back to work.
Here is the blurb from Vogue's website about the spread that includes our guy:
On the Town
In honor of the upcoming Fashion's Night Out, Grace Coddington and Steven Meisel masterminded the magnificent spread "On the Town" that appears in the September issue of Vogue. The dizzying shoot took place over four days on the roof of 30 Rockefeller Center in New York and features everyone from the fashion elite (Carolina Herrera and Marc Jacobs) to Hollywood heavyweights (Rachel Weisz and Eddie Redmayne); models (Lara Stone, Naomi Campbell, and Natalia Vodianova); athletes (Henrik Lundqvist and Yi Jianlian)—and much, much more—all to bring attention to the fashion industry and creative spirit of the city. To capture all the behind-the-scenes madness, Vogue.com took its cameras to the set. Click below to view our exclusive video. And, to see the full 12-page photo spread, pick up the September issue of Vogue.

AND if anyone out there speaks Swedish, I'm very curious what the "meat-packing" conversation was about. I mean, Henrik says it, then the host seems to ask him "what?" and Henrik repeats "meat-packing." Then it's said at least once more. Why in the world are they talking about meat-packing...I'm very curious. It's at about 1:05 mark.
Ok, sorry to be bombing with comments today, but I was really so excited to see that blue plaid shirt. Crazy I know, but it made me happy.
I actually blogged about that shirt in early July...that's how much I love it.

(If you'd rather not post the link to my blog, I understand.)
I'm sure meatpacking is in reference to the meatpacking district of NYC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meatpacking_District,_Manhattan), because they also mentioned SoHo.
Apologies for all the posts, just so much HL today and it's only fair to share with everyone else out there :) http://www.bauer.com/blog/
He bought a Hummer? Ew. Not only are those things useless gas-guzzlers unless you're, I don't know, in combat or something, but they're also a bitch to park next to :(
Most of the other player interviews have the guys saying Megan Fox would be the ultimate red carpet date; HL says Therese. Where can I gets me a man like him? :p
And for the who do you look like question? He answered Joel. Durrr... :p He may try to dress all fancy and act all suave, but that answer says he's just a lame cornball at heart, lol :)
Thank goodness the Hummer was back when he first signed in the NHL. I thought you meant recently. Blech. I will excuse his silly purchase as that of a young guy with too much money at his disposal, because Hummers are ricockulous except in the Army.
No apologies needed. Thanks for sharing! It's so fun. My other favorite player is José Théodore, and he is such a recluse there is hardly any information out there about him on a regular basis. Only now and then. So I get excited when I see so much Hank stuff.
If you ever see any new José stuff, message me or something! ;o) Still waiting to see if he gets signed next year. :(
But back to Henrik...I love that he always answers Therese to the woman questions. It's sweet, even if it is put-on. And for some reason, I don't think it is put-on. I think he really digs her.
Has anyone picked up the issue of Vogue yet? Still not sure if I'm going to...
Correction: I did pick up the issue of Vogue. I just couldn't resist. I really like the photo of Henrik...I like his sweaty-looking photos. And his eyes are really beautiful in the shot. It was worth $5 to me.
This is the blurb about him in the article: Henrik Lundqvist, the Rangers goalie (and recently named Best-Dressed Man in Sweden), noted that New York forces you to notch up your game. "When I played in Sweden, I did pretty well," he said, "but when you come here to New York, you have to start all over."
And I honestly can't tell from the context if he's talking about hockey or fashion. I can't make myself read the whole article, because all things fashion make me puke. I'll try again later.
