Henrik Lundqvist in leather pants?!?
Wednesday, August 18, 2010
So there's a new video out today that is quickly sweeping the Internet. Or at least the part of the Internet devoted to the best goalie, our favorite object of lust: Henrik Lundqvist! BTW have you ever noticed that if you say Lundqvist fast it sounds like lust? No surprise there!

Anyway the video is here. It's Bandit radio Rivstart in Gothenburg where Henrik's summer house is in Sweden. Henrik first appears at 55 minutes in sitting on the couch in a cute blue/white checked shirt and what appears to be black leather pants! Am I the only one that thought that? Henrik in leather pants is to die for! Why oh why couldn't that camera have shown Henrik standing?

Is Henrik wearing leather pants?

Henrik does appear a bit shy and even a little embarrassed at first? He doesn't ham it up for the camera and actually tries to avoid looking at it. Can't understand a word but it sure is pleasant listening to him talk. I love his voice! BTW Carol has a post dedicated to Henrik's cute blue and white shirt on her blog about hockey goalies!

Hmmm. The pants do have a sheen of some sort, but they're not as shiny as the black leather couch he's on, so I don't think they're leather.
Maybe they're black shiny jeans to go with the shiny blue shirt in Carol's blog entry about the blue plaid shirt?
Maybe he stole the black glitter jeans I had in 1988 :p
Ooohh...his pants. I didn't even notice his pants. I was too entranced by "the shirt." ;o) But they do definitely look black. I just can't tell if they are leather. I can't imagine him wearing leather pants...although I didn't really think of him wearing a black leather jacket with zippers, but we sure saw that one the other day. So I've certainly been wrong before. I'd be curious to see what others think...I've had 2 cataract surgeries in the past 3 weeks and my sight is still pretty crappy, so I'm not one to try to study photos closely right now. Meh.
I was transfixed by this video today. Seriously, I watched the whole thing, not understanding one word of it. Well, a few words...meat-packing for sure. ;o) And New York a lot. And Pittsburgh and Penguins.
I also thought it seemed his tone and manner of speaking changed slightly when he addressed the woman on the show. He was almost even quieter...in a more mannerly way. Like he was being extra soft and polite with her. Was that me imagining things again? Gawd, I think I analyzed this way too much. When you can't understand a frickin' word, you start noticing other things!! Haha!!
Thanks for posting, Christine, since we kind of took over the Vogue article thread with our discussion of this one.
And was it mentioned that the Vogue issue goes on sale the 20th of August...just a couple days away. Not sure I'll buy the whole thing just for that one photo...it's such an odd one. I don't want a photo fthe Olsen twins! We'll see...maybe our library copy will go missing said page...gasp! I didn't say that!
Thanks for the shout out to my ode to Henrik's blue and white shirt. ;o)
Not Leather.....Noticed it the first time I saw the pic......They are just a dark wash jeans. Overall nice Look Tho. I think I've seen it twice or so...
I Can Understand some Sweedish...I usualy read articles in Sweedish about our guy..So...I've learned a few things along the way.
Things a Girl would do........LOL
Yeah I wouldn't want a photo feature with the Olsen twins! Poor Henrik.
I think we need to take up a collection to get Henrik some black leather pants. Dark jeans are ok, but we want leather! They mold to one's body you know. ;)
Can anyone translate a few things from the Interview???
The things I remember from the interview:
They asked which NHL arena is best and which worst, and Henrik answered that Pittsburgh is worst but that they're building a new one. They also talked a bit about MSG, Henrik told for example that the ice actually is on the fifth floor of the building.
They talked a bit about injuries, Henrik said that for him it's mostly the knees and hips and that his knee is not perfect yet. He has basically been playing injured all year last season but he loves to play and is not there to sit on the bench. He's just learned to deal with the injuries.
They say the schedule is much tighter in NHL than in Sweden, hardly any time to give yourself a rest and a lot of travelling.
He also said he saw Denzel Washington in a Broadway play and that he was very good.
One of the interviewers said that they had spoken on the phone when Henrik was in NY for the first time, while he was still staying in a hotel. He had asked him what it was like to drive in NYC, and Hank had answered without a second of thought "I HATE it". Henrik laughed about that and said he had gotten used to it now and it's not a problem anymore.
Then they talked about the kayak accident, he basically told what we already knew about it. Henrik said they had been surprised by the wind, and one of the interviewers answered that they must have been even more surprised to see Henrik Lundqvist there. Hank answered that when he took the hand of one of the kayak guys to help him onto the boat, the first thing the guy said was: "I recognize you!!". They laughed quite a bit about that.
Thanks, Anna!! I had a feeling that he was talking about the rescuing the kayakers event at one part of the interview. I forget if it was the way he was moving his hands or if it was something he said...I swore I heard "boat" in English, but probably not. Anyway, I thought it was probabaly that incident. So thanks for confirming. And they did laugh a lot at that time. I would've been freaky cool to be saved by Henrik and Joel!!
Yeah they laughed a lot when Henrik imitated the guy saying that he recognized him. You probably heard the Swedish word 'båt' which sounds a lot like boat and has the exact same meaning.
Ah, that must be what I heard then. Makes sense! Thanks!!
